A Geisha Inspired look

Geisha (芸者?)Geiko (芸子) or Geigi (芸妓) are traditional, female Japaneseentertainers whose skills include performing various Japanese arts such as classical music and dance.

Geisha (play /ˈɡʃə/Japanese: [ɡeːʃa]),[1] like all Japanese nouns, has no distinct singular or plural variants. The word consists of two kanji (gei) meaning "art" and  (sha) meaning "person" or "doer". The most literal translation of geisha into English would be "artist," "performing artist," or "artisan." Another name for geisha in is geiko (芸子), which is usually used to refer to geisha from western Japan, which includes Kyoto.
Apprentice geisha are called maiko (舞子 or 舞妓), literally "dance child") or hangyoku (半玉), "half-jewel" (meaning that they are paid half of the wage of a full geisha),[2] or by the more generic term o-shaku (御酌), literally "one who pours (alcohol)". The white make-up and elaborate kimono and hair of a maiko is the popular image held of geisha. A woman entering the geisha community does not have to begin as a maiko, having the opportunity to begin her career as a full geisha. Either way, however, usually a year's training is involved before debuting either as a maiko or as a geisha. A woman above 21 is considered too old to be a maiko and becomes a full geisha upon her initiation into the geisha community. However, those who do go through the maiko stage can enjoy more prestige later in their professional lives.

A goddess inspired shoot

This was the envisioned goddess inspired shoot that turns out to be more of a pre-nup shoot. Anyways, beauty is in the eye of the beholder in the same manner perceiving is with the beholder's interpretation.

It has been a while since we did a photoshoot, and i must say that this photoshoot is the best of all, why? because i felt that i grew better as a make up artist and in the same way i see these photos, the Photographers have also enhanced their photography skills. Also, this time, we asked for a collaboration with Queenies Boutique (Address: Along Calumpang National High Way, beside Jollibee Calumpang) and we're just fortunate enough to have been lend some of their dazzling creations. Special thanks to a rising designer, Dave Mark Forones.

Like always, I will do some sort of demo for this look

For the hair:

It will be easier to create that classy and elegant look if the hair is already curled for those who have straight hair. For those who have curly hair, the literally kinky hair, i suggest that you straight-iron it first and create a wavy but not too curly hair. After doing so, you will need a beaded headband, put it half-way through on the head and create a bulgy look by pushing some hair forward. and one-by-one you pin the hair at the back and making sure that all of it are pinned.

For Make-up:

I mixed my Revlon and MaC liquid foundation to achieve that glowing skin and for some extra glow a applied Ever Billena's compact foundation.  For the brows, try creating a thicker brow for that fierce look, go a lil bit higher in applying pencil brow liner (preferably brown). for the eyes, i put on a thick false-lashes and lined a thick line on top of it for a cleaner look. Afterwards, i applied a black shadow and below it is the white shadow to create an illusion. Line the nose to create that bone structure up there throw a pink blush on the cheek for younger look and just go for neutral colors for the lips and you should be camera ready.

african-inspired

This was the 4th shoot- I was a lil bit disappointed for some reason i cannot recall anymore (this post is way too late, making me not remember what happened anymore).

The photographers are envisioning a high-end fotoshoot, however these pictures weren't the exact images i wanted to achieve.

Nevertheless, this is still, in my own right, a not-too-bad shoot though.

For the make-up, just refer to the 3rd shoot below.

For the dress, i just chose to put on what seems to go on rightly for Xang's (model) face.

High-end fashion shoot

This was the third shoot named high-end fashion photo shoot. This was the first instance where the photographers had two models- and so am I. Good thing there were other make-up artists and stylists who joined the group and they did Rhea's ( the girl who has that straight hair) make-up and styling. I did Xang's.

For Xang, I chose to play safe by not adding too much color on her face. I just basically opened her eyes by putting heavy black shadow on the wing of her eyes- creating a fierce look. I did an effort to somehow conceal her heavy brows by putting Ever Bilena's make-up mousse. And for the lips, I also applied a heavy nude cream and topped it all off by Ever Bilena's make-up mousse to somehow create some drama.

For the dress, I let her wore that blue-colored blouse and paired it with her high-waist skirt to give emphasis on her legs. For the shoes, i chose that not-too-high boots and to give it a touch of my individual style- I tied a string around her boots to give impact on the whole get-up. To somehow contrast that seemingly feminine look, I also added that military cup.

It was really exhausting, but self-satisfying

2nd photoshoot- Goth (which seems to turn as Halloween shoot)

Above was the second shoot that i had, the same fotografers that i was with during the 1st shoot (Actually the 1st shoot (Vintage and this shoot were taken in just one day). Still, the same setting, we all are time constraint as the sun gradually fades. I was in a hurry when doing Xang's make-up and styling.

For the make-up, i lavishly applied black cream to Xang's lower and upper eye portion, which was Xang's Liquid eye-liner (I was so happy that my little idea due to incomplete mak-up set worked-haha). That seemingly little mole below her left eye is also from Xang's liquid eyeliner, I did that to emphasize more the fierce eyes the I was trying to make. and for her lips, I combined a darker lipstick and still Xang's liquid eyeliner to give her face a braver look. I haven't applied color on Xang's cheek for i wanted to focus the viewers' eyes on her eyes and a bit on her lips.

For the hair, i basically just teased her hair, to give it volume and to achieve that NAKAKATAKOT look.

And for the dress, i asked Xang to bring some of her black dresses and the one that she wore was a semi-casual dress which has a cloth-belt behind her bust. I let Xang wore this dress to maintain the balance of theme.

At the end of the day, I must be thankful to Ms. eyeliner- she saved my day :) haha

1st photoshoot- Vintage

I Know that this is a bit late- nonetheless, i felt that it's still my right to post pictures on my blog regardless of it being current or not.

actually this is my first experience to have been invited to do the make-up of a model and style her. The first experience is weary for i have got some personal issues that i need to attend to and i was given a little time to do the model. But i felt, that i have given the picture the justice that it needs.
